The Teacher’s Aide under general supervision assists the Teacher and Assistant Teacher to provide developmental care and supervision to children enrolled in the child care center.  Provides learning experiences to foster the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of children within a safe, healthy learning environment. Plans and implements age appropriate curriculum and establish and maintain supportive relationships with children and parents.



  1. Assists the Teacher and Assistant Teacher in planning and implementing age appropriate curriculum involving various activities to stimulate and foster children’s intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development and abilities.
  2. Provides continuous supervision to children enrolled in the child care center; ensures health and safety of children.


  1. Assists Teacher and /or Assistant Teacher to prepare activities that support lesson plans and in supervising children in classroom activities.
  2. Utilizes appropriate language, interactions, and positive discipline; model positive behavior.


  1. Ensures that the classroom environment and outdoor play area is clean, safe, attractive, organized and promotes learning.
  2. Records daily observations of children’s behavior and activities; monitors behavioral patterns, assists and collaborates with teacher to discuss and participate in children’s developmental assessments.


  1. Communicates with families about incidents that have been observed and/or recorded on site.
  2. Completes and submits records and reports in a timely manner as required for self and others; maintains accurate attendance and enrollment records.
  3. Maintains current knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Development by engaging in professional development activities such as trainings, workshops, and classes to meet annual state requirements.

    Education and/or Experience                                                              
    High School diploma required. Candidate may be a high school student 16 years of age and must have completed two Early Childhood Education courses required.
    Computer Skills                                                          
    Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft word, Excel and Outlook.
